This home was built in 1950 and included a detached carport with a large two-room workshop. In January of this year, She embarked on a project to build a completely self-contained apartment for herself on the existing slab of the carport/workshop and invited her daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons to move into the main house. The new apartment was immediately dubbed “The Modernist Nest” by a fellow blogger and “Grammo’s Little House” by her grandsons.
It took three months to complete the construction and a couple more months to landscape, Now she’s finally in and enjoying her new 676 sf nest-space very much.
